This 30-hour IV Certification course meets the requirements of the Florida State Board of Nursing for certification of LPNs to administer IV therapy. This course is approved for all Nurses: LPN, RN, ARNP, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Graduate Nurses, Medical Assistants, Respiratory Care Practitioner Critical Care, Respiratory Care Practitioner Non-Critical Care, Certified Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Midwife.

LPNs and RNs who want to refresh or have been out of clinical practice for a period of time and want to revise and improve your IV skills, you are also welcome to take this course. Great course for Graduate Nurses!! Also approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing. 

After completion of this certification course; you will receive your certificate and 30 hr credits will be submitted to CE Broker as credits towards license renewal.

The purpose of the intravenous (I.V.) therapy course is to provide guidelines for the delivery and safe management of Intravenous therapy. This course will provide the healthcare workers with an understanding of various aspects of intravenous (IV) therapy including: how to care for patients receiving Intravenous therapy, information about the venous system, fluid and electrolyte balance, peripheral veins, common I.V. terms, venipuncture, access to deliver Intravenous therapy, including different catheters and their function/use, specific Intravenous therapies, complications associated with intravenous route, different types of Intravenous equipment, correct administration of Intravenous solutions, medications, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion, legal aspect of IV therapy, infection control standards and the scope of practice. The course is divided into 24 home study hours online followed by 6 classroom hours; the course consists of both theory and actual hands-on-practice sessions.

You will be given the opportunity to learn at your own pace.

Multiple hands-on-practice, to give you the confidence to safely insert and maintain Intravenous lines.

Changing End Caps

Changing extension tubing

Hanging IV Fluids, Primary, Piggyback (secondary)

Spiking IV Bags and priming the tubing and attaching it to the mannequin.

Setting up Burette (volume controlled fluid/medication delivery)

Changing IV tubings and dressings

Port-A-cath access with Huber needle

Maintaining peripheral and Central lines.

Venipuncture procedure (on mannequin – with bloodlike solution)

Certified Nursing Assistant Challenger Prep Course

ADMISSION

Train for success Inc. will be accepting Applications throughout the year.  

A waiting list will be utilized for classes that are full.

Applicants should be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants do not need immunizations, drug screen, and background check for the course. A background check will be needed when applying for the State certification exam.( the nursing assistant competency examination ).  

Items Needed: Watch with second hand, a pen and a 3-ring binder. Stethoscope and other training materials will be provided.

TRAIN FOR SUCCESS INC. will work with you to practice the clinical skills and to practice examinations. During the training, the students will learn various clinical skills, including: assisting with the activities of daily living such as; assist with eating, bathing, hygiene, mouth and denture care using the bedpan, toilet, transfers and exercise (ROM); safe techniques to assist patients with wheelchair mobility, ambulation, moving, walking, and positioning; taking and recording the patient’s vital signs: temperature, pulse rate, respiration (TPR) and Blood pressure (BP); accurate methods for recording in the patients' medical record, infection control technique, responding appropriately to emergencies and so much more....  

You will also watch training skills video, practice skills and return demonstration will be provided during competency evaluation to make sure that you build confidence with the skills. 

UNIFORMS/DRESS

Students are required to wear Scrubs to class.

Students are preparing for a career in the health field, and the scrubs can be used throughout your career.

Scrubs:

  • Any color scrub top and bottom or
  • skirts with scrub top
  • nylons stockings or socks and
  • shoes / sneakers with non-skid soles
  • A watch with a second hand

The CNA challenger prep. course does not confer a diploma, college credit or degree. This course is for test preparation. After you have completed the CNA CHALLENGER PREP COURSE, You must take the State of Florida CNA Examination and pass to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. 

You will have the support of professional nurses and experienced staff to assist you. A free repeat class will be offered, if you do not pass the boards the first time.  

CNAs work in many different settings such as the Hospital, Long Term Care Facilities; Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Rehab. Centers, private in home care, Physician's Office, Hospice Care and other institutions that provide health care services.
