1. Complete 100% online if you are already trained  in blood draw skills or completing Phlebotomy on the job but not yet certified; complete 3 weeks online review then complete the National Certification examination online.

2. If you select the skills class session (class session is in Lakeland, Florida).

Course length: 3 weeks (review online & attend 1 class in week 3).

TRAIN FOR SUCCESS INC. is a testing site for the National Medical Career Assessment Certification (MedCA), therefore you will test onsite (or remotely from your location**

1. Must have Graduation from High School (or equivalent such as GED)

2. and graduation from an approved Phlebotomy program within the last 5 years.

Or 1 year work experience as a Phlebotomy Technician within the past 5 years (you have on the job training but not certified or Medical Assistants with Phlebotomy training but not certified).

**If you are completing Blood draws on the job but not certified, you will be provided with a form to complete**

This training is short and effective. Make the commitment to study for 3 weeks (Your time is valuable - sign up & start course review/ study; then come into 1 class session to practice & complete the examination** or complete 100% online if you already drawing blood on the job or previously trained).

The purpose of this course is to provide the healthcare worker/ professionals, with an understanding of Phlebotomy, the reasons for Phlebotomy, review of integumentary system and how it relates to Phlebotomy. This course will also provide the participant with knowledge relating to the vascular system, legal and professional standards, infection control, accidents/ incidents that can arise through venipuncture procedures and to teach the learner how to handle complications when they occur. This course will be provided through classroom lectures, PowerPoint, Videos and hands on practice and training in venipuncture techniques (if you selected class session) or online review. The course will prepare you to take for the National certification examination onsite or online. 

If you select a class session for skills;

Phlebotomy practice sessions include: drawing blood via vacutainer, butterfly and syringe methods on medical mannequin. 

***This course also provides 24 hr of Continuing Education credits***
